WASHINGTON - Speaking two days after his divorce, golfer Tiger Woods has said that he feels more sadness than relief.

Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren officially divorced nine months after he was exposed for having numerous extramarital affairs.

The golfer said that it’s a sad time in his life because “you don’t ever go into a marriage looking to get divorced.”

The player said that his golf is secondary, and that he’s trying to get their two children used to their parents being divorced, reports CBS News.

Meanwhile, Swedish-born Nordegren told People magazine that she and Woods tried for months to reconcile the relationship. In the end, a marriage “without trust and love” wasn’t good for anyone, she said.

She added: “I’ve been through hell. It’s hard to think you have this life, and then all of a sudden - was it a lie? You’re struggling because it wasn’t real. But I survived. It was hard, but it didn’t kill me.”

Asked about his ex-wife’s interview, Woods said: “I wish her the best in everything.”

“You know, it’s a sad time in our lives. And we’re looking forward in our lives and how we can help our kids the best way we possibly can. And that’s the important thing,” he said. (ANI)
