Nate Montana Under Pressure

NOTRE DAME, (GaeaTimes.com)- The Saturday night clash between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Michigan Wolverines saw the son of the legendary quarterback Joe Montana, fill his father’s shoes as the quarterback. Considering that the Wolverines increased their lead in the season over the Fighting Irish by 2-0, the match was not just heart breaking for the Notre Dame fans in terms of result but also for the performance of the much hyped Nate Montana. After the injury to Dayne Crist, Tommy Rees and Nate Montana were given the quarterback position. Nate Montana, however, failed to make any impression in the game.

Nate Montana was already in the news after the ambitious Tommy Rees took over the position of the back up quarterback before the game on Sunday. Experts were quick to point point out that the son of the legend looked uncomfortable and out of place in the game. Some feel however that being the son of a legend like Joe Montana, puts Nate Montana under a great deal of pressure. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost the game to the Michigan Wolverines with a final score of 28-24.

Apart from Nate Montana, one player who stood out in the game on Saturday was Denard Robinson. With a performance card that boasted of 28 carries with 258 rushing along and 244 yards passing along and three touchdowns, he became the center of most discussions post game. The Michigan Wolverines will next face off against the Massachusetts side after on September 18 and fans will be looking forward to another record breaking performance from the dynamic Denard Robinson.
