NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — Things are not going at all good for Jet’s DT Kris Jenkins. After spending months in losing weight and rehabbing his knee, Kris finally returned to the field on Monday night at New Meadowlands Stadium against the Ravens. But only after six plays into his return, he had to leave the stadium due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Jenkins was injured 6 minutes into the play on “Monday Night Football,” when teammate Bart Scott and Baltimore tackle Michael Oher crashed on top of him on a run play. Jenkins’ knee bent awkwardly back, and he grabbed it immediately. Last October also Kris suffered a leg injury and was out of the field for some time. Now, same accident seems to have taken place again and this time it might make him loose this season. The Jets have lost to the Ravens that nigh by 10-9.

The Jets have decided to bring in a veteran defensive lineman to bolster depth on a unit that has now lost both Jenkins and Ropati Pitoitua. The Jets will now rely on Sione Pouha and Mike DeVito, who stepped up ably in Jenkins’ absence last season. While he was continuing his rehab during the offseason, they took extra reps as well.

If the injury proves to be serious, it might result in the end of the career for Jenkins. Although Jet’s coach Ryan has said that he expects Jenkins would take some time before making a decision.
