Person close to talks: New Jersey Nets talking about a deal for Carmelo Anthony

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — A person close to the talks says the New Jersey Nets are involved in very complicated negotiations with the Denver Nuggets for small forward Carmelo Anthony.

The person says no decision is expected Friday and spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the person is not authorized to speak for the team.

The Nets failed to lure LeBron James, Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh to New Jersey during the free agency sweeepstakes this summer.
