Europe provides no respite for Liverpool

Liverpool’s woes followed it all the way to the Netherlands and a 0-0 tie with Utrecht on Thursday night, while Stuttgart kept up its perfect start to the Europa League by winning at Odense.

A disjointed Liverpool display relied on goalkeeper Pepe Reina’s saves to secure a point. The Reds remain top of Group K after Napoli’s 3-3 draw at Steaua Bucharest.

Stuttgart, which is last in the Bundesliga with just three points from its first six games, leads Group H after Martin Harnik’s late goal secured a 2-1 win at Odense.

Sevilla earned its first points by beating Borussia Dortmund 1-0 in Group J, which Paris St. Germain leads after beating Ukraine’s Karpaty Lviv 2-0.
