MELBOURNE - Victoria cricket team coach Greg Shipperd believes that fast bowler Peter Siddle is fit to reclaim his place in the Australia Test team for this summer’s Ashes series against England.

A string of back injuries has kept the 25-year-old from national duties since January’s third Test against Pakistan.

“His pace is right up there at the moment. As he gets more matches under his belt, he’ll hit the crease with a bit more vigour. He’s on the right path,” Fox Sports quotted Shipperd, as saying.

Shipperd, however, said Siddle needed to attack the stumps more.

He said: “He seems to be someone who … is nicked for four quite often. We’ve just got to redirect his radar … and we think that will add more wickets to his tally and reduce the runs.” (ANI)
