SYDNEY - Australian fast bowler Doug Bollinger has backed former coach John Buchanan’s claims that England batsman Kevin Pietersen could be a weak link for the tourists during the Ashes series.

“John Buchanan is well within his rights to voice his own point of view,” News.co.au quoted Bollinger, as saying.

“You just leave KP (Pietersen) to his own devices and his ego does get in the road at times,” he added.

Reacting to Buchanan’s comments, Pietersen had earlier said that the 57-year-old was a “nobody” despite the world-beating record of Australians teams he coached.

“I didn’t react to it (Buchanan’s comments) because it was strange that he made headlines. I’m not interested in what he has to say. Who is he? He’s a nobody,” the English middle-order batsman had said.

“He had the best team to coach in the history of cricket. Anyone could have coached that team. He has done nothing else solid so I won’t even take it with a pinch of salt,” he added. (ANI)
