Sehwag smashes ton, India 243/1 at tea

AHMEDABAD - Virender Sehwag smashed an unbeaten 152 off 172 balls as India racked up 243 for one at tea on the opening day of the first cricket Test against New Zealand here Thursday.

Sehwag’s knock included 22 fours and a six. Rahul Dravid, too, scored a half century, scoring 61 off 162 balls.

India didn’t lose any wicket in the second session.

Gautam Gambhir’s was the only Indian wicket to fall in the first session. He was bowled by Jesse Ryder for 21.
