Asian Gams wushu: Sandhyarani settles for a silver

GUANGZHOU - India’s Sandhyarani Devi Wangkhem had to settle for a silver in wushu after she lost the women’s sanshou 60kg final to Khadijeh AzadPour of Iran at the Asian Games here Wednesday.

The 27-year-old from Manipur had assured India of a silver when she beat beat Paloy Barckkham of Laos 2-0 in the semifinals.

This was India’s second medal in Sanshou wushu after M. Bimoljit Singh finished with a bronze in the men’s 60kg Tuesday.
