Tamil Nadu, Railways Ranji Trophy match ends in a draw

CHENNAI - With the rains interrupting play, Tamil Nadu and Railways picked up a point apiece from their drawn Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match here Saturday.

Replying to Tamil Nadus first innings total of 335 for four declared, the Railways, overnight 40 without loss, ended up on 143 for one after openers Faiz Fazal (71) and Vairamudi Cheluvaraj (54 not out) put on 133 runs.

Only 34 overs were possible Saturday due to the wet ground conditions following intermittent showers overnight.

While Tamil Nadu share the second spot behind Mumbai (14) with Gujarat, each having 10 points, the Railways occupy seventh spot with three points in the eight-team Group A.
