LONDON - Wayne Rooney and wife Coleen have reportedly christened their son Kai yesterday with a secret classy ceremony.

The couple held a small and intimate do for close family only as they tried to avoid the criticisms that followed Kai’s first birthday party, reports the Daily Star.

Both the venue and guest-list were kept top secret to keep it a purely private affair. But both families were spotted getting dolled-up to go early in the morning.

Wayne’s mum Janette was spotted walking through the suburb of Croxteth, Liverpool, with curlers in after an early-morning trip to the hairdressers.

The salon opened specially for the football mum plus family and friends. And Coleen’s family gathered at her parents Tony and Colette McLoughlin’s house to get ready.

A 15-seater minibus arrived at Coleen’s parents’ house in the early afternoon to whisk them all off to a secret location.

Friends said WAG Coleen has been planning a low-key ceremony for months.

“They were keen not to repeat the big bash they had for Kai’s birthday which had a lot of bad press. The Christening is a church affair and Coleen’s family are religious, so they did not want a big brash bash,” a source said. (ANI)
