Al Golden To Coach Miami Hurricanes

CORAL GABLES (GaeaTimes.com)- After being associated with the Temple University for about five seasons, it seems for coach Al Golden it was just the right time to move on. The 41-year-old Temple University head coach has been employed as the head coach of the University of Miami. Al Golden would be introduced as the head coach of his new team Miami Hurricanes in a news conference that is slated to be held on Monday afternoon. After he formally assumes responsibility of the team later today, the former Temple University coach would be the 22nd coach to lead that Miami Hurricanes.

The athletic director of the University of Miami, Kirby Hocutt said in a statement that was released on Sunday night that the team is indeed proud to have Al Golden as its head coach while expressing hope that he was the prefect person who could fulfill the championship expectations of the team. The athletic director further added that Al Golden was the right candidate to assume the coaching duties of the team with more energy, enthusiasm as well as excitement. Moreover, Kirby Hocutt also went on to say that the manner in which the 41-year-old coach helped the Temple University football team to emerge from the bottom of the point and evolve as a respectable program was indeed commendable.

After to his association with the Temple University, Al Golden had also spent five seasons with Virginia as its defensive coordinator. In his new team, the much acclaimed football coach would be replacing Randy Shannon who was fired by the University of Miami on Nov 27.
