LONDON - LA Galaxy has given David Beckham the green light for a loan move to England, and the ace midfielder is hoping his loan deal to Tottenham will be completed by the end of the week.

Galaxy wants Spurs to cover his 80,000 pounds-a-week salary and agree to pay compensation if he picks up an injury.

Despite the fact the MLS season kicks off in the middle of March, Tottenham would ideally want Beckham until the end of that month and it is understood there may be room for him to miss Galaxy’s first two games, The Daily Express reports.

Tottenham is set to free up some of the money they will need for the Beckham deal by selling their top earner, Robbie Keane.

Birmingham yesterday made a club-record bid of seven million pounds for Keane.

Removing the Irish striker from the payroll would also save Spurs 65,000 pounds a week in wages. (ANI)
