Zabaleta wins red card appeal

LONDON - Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta Friday won his appeal against the red card he was shown against Arsenal.

The Argentinian was sent off in the final moments of Wednesday’s 0-0 draw after a confrontation with Bacary Sagna.

Both players were dismissed, but Zabaleta appeared to do nothing more than stand his ground as Sagna thrust his head at him.

Zabaleta will now be available for City’s FA Cup clash against Leicester City and former boss Sven-Goran Eriksson Sunday.
