RANCHI - Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda Thursday said President Pratibha Patil would be invited to the opening ceremony of the 34th National Games next month.

“I am going to New Delhi to invite President Pratibha Devisingh Patil for the opening ceremony of the 34th National Games,” Munda told reporters here. The games will be held Feb 12-26

The Games, originally scheduled in 2007, were postponed six times due to insufficient infrastructure and other reasons.

Jharkhand is also planning to invite Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a resident of Ranchi, to the event.
