MELBOURNE - Cricket Australia (CA) has said that it expects Friday’s Twenty20 International between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to go ahead, with rain forecast to clear.

Cricket Australia spokesman Peter Young, however, said that the International Cricket Council (ICC) would make the final decision on the match.

“Watching the radar it indicates the rain should stop early afternoon and we’re confident that we will be playing cricket,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Young, as saying.

“At the moment the advice we’re getting is that the men’s game will start on time, but we will monitor that,” he added.

Australia had lost the first Twenty20 International at the Adelaide Oval by one wicket. (ANI)
