Stephanie Rice says she’s matured a lot since last year

SYDNEY - Australian swimmer Stephanie Rice has revealed that she matured and grew up a lot after the turbulent time she had last year, in which she had to face many ups and downs.

Rice, 22, who had on New Year’s Day tweeted, “Learn from the mistakes and embrace the highs”, said that she was not talking only about one specific mistake but rather everything in life.

“It relates to your whole life, mine especially, in all aspects,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted her as saying.

“You’re always going to have ups and down in whatever it is, but you’ve got to learn from the mistakes whether it’s a bad swim or a bad day.

“What went wrong? How do you make that better? How can it not happen again? I would relate it a lot more to my swimming career and the year I had with surgery and everything.

“I’m just trying to bring myself back up again and build through confidence and be a lot more happy in life,” she added. (ANI)
