MELBOURNE - Australian batsman Michael Hussey is doubtful for next month’s 50-over World Cup in the Indian sub-continent due to a hamstring injury.

According to Fox Sports, scans on Hussey’s left hamstring have revealed that the left-handed batsman has ripped part of a tendon off the bone near the gluteus muscle under his buttocks.

It is believed that the 35-year-old now faces at least a month on the sidelines.

Hussey had suffered the injury while batting in the first ODI against England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Australia’s World Cup campaign commences against Zimbabwe on February 21. (ANI)
