PERTH - Australia ended a long and arduous summer of cricket with a comfortable 57-run victory in the seventh and final ODI against England in Perth on Sunday.

The dead rubber result wrapped up a convincing 6-1 series triumph for the World No.1 Australian team.

Batting first after winning the toss, Australia were in some trouble at 103-4, but a stand of 95 between Adam Voges and David Hussey helped the hosts post a competitive 279-7, Sky Sports reports.

Voges smashed 80 from 72 balls, while Hussey made a run-a-ball 60.

In reply, England collapsed to be 5-64 before the middle and lower order tried to fight the game out.

However, the resistance could not last and the tourists were eventually dismissed for 222 in 44 overs.

Michael Yardy finished unbeaten on 60 from 76 balls.

Mitchell Johnson, Shaun Tait and Jason Krejza were the pick of the Australian bowlers, taking 3-18, 3-48 and 2-53 respectively. (ANI)
