Hamilton eager to resume baseball activity

ARLINGTON, Texas — Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton is already running on a treadmill and expects to resume baseball activities in about 10 days after surgery to repair of his abdominal muscle.

Hamilton, who was in the clubhouse after the Rangers’ 1-0 victory over Toronto on Thursday night, says he’s glad the injury has been corrected and won’t linger for the rest of the season. He said the surgery Tuesday in Philadelphia was routine.

The expected recovery time is four to six weeks, but Hamilton says his expectations are always bigger. Hamilton, second in the All-Star voting among American League outfielders, said he would like to play in the July 14 game at St. Louis is selected.
