Top-seeded Schiavone defeats Bacsinszky to reach Prague Open final against Bammer

PRAGUE — Top-seeded Francesca Schiavone has outlasted Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 in a rain-delayed semifinal at the Prague Open to set up a title match against Sybille Bammer.
Schiavone needed more than 2 hours, 30 minutes on Sunday to prevail in windy conditions against the unseeded Bacsinszky.
Bammer, the second-seeded Austrian, beat third-seeded Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic 6-0, 7-5 in the other suspended semifinal. Bammer took a 3-0 lead on Saturday before the match was halted due to rain.
