Drogba ready to commit to Chelsea
By ANITuesday, August 4, 2009
LONDON - Didier Drogba is set to give Chelsea a major boost by signing a new three-year contract, which could even be sorted out this week.
It is understood that Ivory Coast striker Drogba is close to completing the deal after confirming on his club’s American tour that he wanted to stay at Stamford Bridge.
Drogba’s long-term future looked in some doubt after his Champions League bust-up against Barcelona last season.
But new manager Carlo Ancelotti has made it crystal clear how highly he rates Drogba.
In America, Ancelotti said Drogba was “irreplaceable, as no other striker in the world can do the same job”. (ANI)
