Bears’ Jones in rush to contribute
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — Bears running back Kevin Jones is finally feeling more like himself.
Plagued by injuries in Detroit and barely able to perform in his first season in Chicago, Jones thinks he could be the second man behind Matt Forte in a solid, one-two punch for the Bears.
A first-round pick by the Lions in 2004, Jones rushed for 1,133 yards as a rookie before the injuries started to mount.
He was signed last year, but struggled as he recovered from injuries.
While Forte has emerged as one of the NFL’s top young running backs, Jones tailed off. He’s looking forward to this season to prove he’s back.
