TOTTENHAM - English footballer Peter Crouch, who was left out of the national squad, was boosted by his Tottenham Hotspur debut, where he featured in a 3-0 Spurs victory over Olympiakos.

The 28 year-old said that he was overjoyed by the reception that was given by Spurs fans and promised to provide his best for the club.

“I got a fantastic reception from the fans and obviously I’m very thankful for that. Hopefully I can give a bit back, score goals and do well for this club and put it where it should be,” The Telegraph quoted Crouch, as saying.

“With the squad and the ability we’ve got in the dressing room there are no ends to what we can achieve,” he added.

Crouch, who was signed from Portsmouth, played in the first half of the game. He would now be looking forward to Sunday’s opening Premier League game, where they will face Liverpool. (ANI)
