LONDON - Steven Gerrard believes that Manchester City could be Premier League title challengers this season. The Liverpool captain said: “They have made everyone sit up and take notice. They’re definitely going to be gunning for that top four.”
“And looking at the standard and quality of players they have brought in, they might even be capable of pushing on for the title if it all clicks together for them,” The Sun quoted Gerrard, as saying.
Manchester City’s whopping annual wage bill has already crossed the 100 million-a-year pound mark.
Robinho (160,000 pounds a week), Emmanuel Adebayor (150,000 pounds), Carlos Tevez (150,000 pounds), Gareth Barry (120,000 pounds) and Toure (120,000 pounds) are the top earners.
Boss Mark Hughes spent 200 million pounds on players - with more to come - and owner Sheikh Mansour’s total input is approaching one billion pounds. (ANI)
