LeGarrette Blount Punches His Way Out Of His Football Career

LeGarrette Blount the tail back for Oregon lost his mind and sucker punched Boise State player Byron Hout on Thursday night. It was not before other players physically restrained and took Blount off the field, that Hout could be saved from his assault.
Hout, during one post game interplay, had patted Blount’s shoulder and was disappearing when Blount lodged a sucker punch straight at his jaw. Hout was floored by the impact of the punch.
This incident and the very next one where Blount, while being dragged away from Hout, indulges in an altercation with a group of Boise State fans in the stands, showcases the frustration of Oregon’s losing the match to Boise at 19-8. The incident will result in Blount’s possible suspension or even expulsion from the team.
Earlier this year Blount had already faced another suspension due to some academic reasons. That suspension had kept him out of the spring practice. But Thursday’s incident is another issue altogether, punching an opponent and attempting to fight fans of the opponent team will not let Blount escape with any light punishment. He will be suspended that’s for sure and who knows if Boise State is too much miffed about the incident then Blount might even face assault charges.
Blount who has great football talent might have ended his college football career with his own hands. Before Thursday’s match the head coach of Boise State, Chris Petersen, who is also a key witness to Blount’s attack on Hout, had said, “LeGarrette is a special back. You watch him run through there and guys are just bouncing off him.”
