Meb Keflezighi Wins New York City Marathon

New York- Meb Keflezighi won the New York City marathon 2009 on Sunday. The American also won people’s applaud with it as it has been quite a long time since an American won the title in 1980.
Keflezighi, a popular marathon runner got the silver medal in 2004 Olympic. The 34-year-old Meb Keflezighi was Born in Eritrea, and became a U.S. citizen in 1998. Keflezighi had participated in several marathon races earlier but succeeded only this time to earn the greatest triumph in NYC Marathon 2009.
Keflezighi, wearing “USA” on his chest, won in 2 hours, 9 minutes, 15 seconds. He pulled away Kenyan marathon runner Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot when only few miles were left to complete the race, according to source. His another contender Moroccan Jaouad Gharib finished the game as a second runner-up.
Keflezigh has made every American proud with his brilliant success in the New York City Marathon 2009. It was a much-awaiting day for the Americans who have not observed such a glorious victory over a long time.
