Berkeley- Saturday night’s match between the California Bears and Oregon State Beavers turned somber, after the star tailback of the Bears, Jahvid Best sustained serious injuries during the course of the match. Best’s injury came in at the end of the first half of the match, just 6:07 minutes away from the half-time mark.

The incident reportedly took place when the Bear’s star was on his way to score a touchdown. Beaver’s defender Cameron Collins met him along the way, in order to intercept. Sensing the danger up ahead, Best had leapt up in the air but in the very next moment came down crashing and slamming on the ground. Due to rough landing and his head coming in contact with the hard ground, the helmet was thrown off his head. This resulted in Jahvid Best slamming his head against the field forcefully.

After this, a flurry of events was kicked in to action and Jahvid Best was carried out of the field. He was also given oxygen while on the grounds. Following the events, the match was held back by as much as 13 minutes. After Best was taken off the field in a stretcher, he was reportedly rushed to the hospital, where he had to undergo many tests, in order to examine his condition.

From what has emerged, it appears that some of his tests reports are made available and it seems to signify that he has not met with any sort of permanent damages to his spine. However, according to the reports of the team’s spokesperson, more test reports are supposedly on way, which will throw further light on Jahvid Best’s condition.
