‘Injured England players coming along in time for World Cup’, says Bell

DHAKA - England batsman Ian Bell is confident that his injured team-mates will recover in time for their opening match of the World Cup campaign.
Fast bowlers Tim Bresnan (calf) and Ajmal Shahzad (hamstring), and batsman Paul Collingwood (back) are doubtful starters, leading the England management to request special dispensation to pick stand-by fast bowler Chris Tremlett, if necessary.owever, Bell said: “We have a few niggles but, hopefully, everyone is coming along in time for the World Cup.”
“It is not ideal for us. But we’ll get on with it. We knew that was the case coming here,” he added.
Bell further said that fast bowler Stuart Broad is ready to make a comeback from the abdominal muscle tear that saw him return home midway through the Ashes tour.
“Broady’s not feeling too good, but I’m sure, over the next couple of days, he’ll be back on his feet,” the Sun quoted Bell, as saying.
“He is as keen as anyone, having missed a fair bit of the winter, to make a real statement in this World Cup. We’re looking forward to getting him back on the field,” he added. (ANI)
