New Zealand drown Kenya in a sea of records (Statistical highlights)

CHENNAI - New Zealand pulverised Kenya in a World Cup Group A match to register their first ever 10-wicket victory in the history of cricket’s most prestigious event.
The other highlights:
* It is the eighth time that a team has won by 10 wickets in a World Cup.
The West Indies and South Africa have registered two wins each while Sri Lanka, New Zealand, India and Australia have posted one win each by 10 wickets.
* New Zealand’s Jacob Oram (3/2) registered his second best bowling figures in the World Cup — his best are 4/52 against Canada at Benoni March 3, 2003.
* Oram has become the third New Zealander to claim 25 wickets in the World Cup. His tally of 27 wickets at 20.33 runs apiece in 18 games is bettered only by Chris Harris (32) and Shane Bond (30).
* The victory is the third biggest in terms of balls remaining (252) in the history of the World Cup. England had won by 8 wickets with 277 balls remaining against Canada at Manchester June 13, 1979 while Sri Lanka had won by 9 wickets with 272 balls remaining against Canada at Paarl February 19, 2003.
* Kenya (69) posted their lowest World Cup total. They had scored 104 against the West Indies at Kimberley in the 2003 World Cup.
* Kenya’s total is the fifth lowest in the history of the World Cup - the four lowest totals being Canada’s 36 against Sri Lanka at Paarl February 19, 2003, Canada’s 45 against England at Manchester June 13, 1979, Namibia’s 45 against Australia at Potchefstroom on February 27, 2003 and Scotland’s 68 against West Indies at Leicester May 27, 1999.
