‘Indian conditions suit my bang-the-wicket kind of bowling’, says Johnson

BANGALORE - Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has said that he is enjoying bowling on slow Indian pitches.
Johnson has opened Australia’s World Cup campaign with 4-19 against Zimbabwe in Ahmedabad and 4-33 against New Zealand in Nagpur.
“It (India) probably just suits my bowling I guess. It’s the bang-the-wicket kind of bowling that I like, the change-ups that I use,” the Age quoted Johnson, as saying.
“I just really enjoy the challenges over here of these conditions. I don’t think I swung the ball on Friday,” he added.
The 29-year-old further said that he likes to keep a simple game plan involving good-length bowling on an off-stump line.
“I saw the game between the Netherlands and England and it looked like a pretty good wicket. So, I had it in the back of my mind that I really wanted to bang it into the wicket like I did against Zimbabwe,” Johnson said.
“Probably not think about it too much, but just go out there and enjoy myself and the challenges of these conditions,” he added. (ANI)
