Taibu stars as Zimbabwe thrash Canada by 175 runs in World Cup clash

NAGPUR - Zimbabwean wicketkeeper-batsman Tatenda Taibu hit 98 on Monday to help his side thrash Canada by 175 runs in their World Cup Group A encounter at Nagpur’s Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium.
Zimbabwe scored 298-9 in their 50 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bat, while Canada was all out for 123 in 42.1 overs.
Taibu hit nine fours in his 99-ball innings, and added 181 runs for the third wicket with Craig Ervine (85).
Leg-spinner Balaji Rao was the most successful bowler for Canada, as he finished with match figures off 4-57 from 10 overs.
The Zimbabweans easily defended their score with five spinners sharing the wickets.
Ray Price took 3-16 from eight overs, while Graeme Cremer picked up 3-31 from 9.1 overs.
