Cameron White knows he needs runs to cement Oz ODI spot

MELBOURNE - Australian and Victorian all-rounder Cameron White knows that he has to stand up and deliver the goods expected of him, if he wants to retain his spot in the national one-day squad.
Though White feels he’s not far away from his best, despite looking out of sorts at times during this summer’s seven-match series against England, he faces the extra pressure of making an impact on the subcontinent during the six-week-long World Cup tournament in the absence of Mr. Cricket Mike Hussey.
White’s status as a senior player is growing within the one-day squad. However, according to Fox Sports, sound tactical advice to Ponting in the field can only carry him so far. The Bushrangers skipper is therefore, bracing himself to take on Sri Lanka’s slow bowlers.
“I’ll just keep playing the way I do and hopefully keep backing myself. I don’t think anyone can play like ‘Mr. Cricket’ (Hussey). I’ve been feeling pretty good at the crease for a while, just not converting any starts really,” he was quoted, as saying. (ANI)
