Back-to-back HRs lift Washington State to 3-2 win over Wichita State in NCAA elimination game

Washington State eliminates Wichita State 3-2
NORMAN, Okla. — Derek Jones and Jared Prince hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning to lift Washington State to a 3-2 victory over Wichita State in an NCAA regional elimination game on Saturday.
The Cougars (32-24) had managed just one hit through the first five innings against Jordan Cooper. They will play another elimination game Sunday afternoon against either Oklahoma or Arkansas.
Wichita State (30-27) got a strong performance from Cooper (8-6), who pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits and tieing his career high with 10 strikeouts.
Chad Arnold (8-3) went 7 1-3 innings for the victory. Two relievers helped the Cougars get out of the eighth and Jeremy Johnson pitched the ninth inning for his 10th save.
