Red Wings to determine Datsyuk’s status for Game 4
PITTSBURGH — Red Wings star Pavel Datsyuk says his status will be determined just before Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals.
The MVP finalist participated in the morning skate on Thursday, then stayed on the ice afterward in an attempt to be ready to face the Pittsburgh Penguins in the game that night.
Detroit coach Mike Babcock said forward Kris Draper would be in the lineup and Justin Abdelkader would be scratched. Abdelkader scored in the first two games.
Datsyuk missed five games with a foot injury.
Datsyuk last played on May 19, when he blocked a shot with his foot against the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals.
