Pitt’s Crosby leaves ice in 2nd period of Game 7
DETROIT — Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby skated off the ice toward the dressing room after taking a big hit in the second period against the Detroit Red Wings.
Crosby was checked by Johan Franzen on Friday night and appeared to have his left leg squeezed between Franzen and the boards. No penalty was called.
Pittsburgh coach Dan Bylsma told NBC that Crosby injured his midsection and that he would return to the game.
The Penguins led 2-0 midway through the second period against the defending champions.
