Pitt’s Crosby returns in 3rd period of Game 7
DETROIT — Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby skated off the ice after taking a big hit in the second period against the Detroit Red Wings, then returned midway through the third on Friday night.
Crosby was checked by Johan Franzen and appeared to have his left leg squeezed between Franzen and the boards. No penalty was called.
Pittsburgh coach Dan Bylsma told NBC that Crosby injured his midsection and that he would return to the game.
Crosby returned 10 minutes into the third with the Penguins leading 2-0.
