LONDON - British Formula One racing champion Lewis Hamilton has said that he still gets a buzz while participating in F-1 despite a disastrous start to the 2009-10 season.

“We’ve gone from fighting at the front of the grid last year to fighting to score points this season. But my approach hasn’t changed. I still get a huge buzz from knowing I couldn’t possibly have gone any faster,” The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying.

The reigning champion heads into Sunday’s British Grand Prix with just nine points from seven races and is struggling at 11th place in the race for the title.

Hamilton existing situation is in stark contrast to last year when he lined up at Silverstone with 38 points from eight rounds.

“Even if you can’t get a good result, the satisfaction you get from racing at the absolute limit is the same. But arriving as a team at a race we won last year to now going in hoping to get into the top 10 is definitely a difficult approach,” Hamilton said.

Currently, Hamilton trails fellow British driver Jenson Button by a massive 52 points, his woeful MP4-24 car has not been fast enough this year with a best place of fourth in Bahrain in April.

“You have always got to keep the faith and remain hopeful that it gets better but, realistically, looking at it right now we don’t have the pace. We just have to keep our heads down, keep battling, keep hustling and grinding to get to the front,” he added. (ANI)
