Fred Funk holds first-round lead at Dick’s Sporting Goods Open

ENDICOTT, N.Y. — Fred Funk has held on to the first-round lead at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open.

Funk shot an 8-under 64 on Friday, but a four-hour rain delay prevented 24 players from completing the round until Saturday morning.

Jeff Roth was one of them, and he finished at 6 under to tie Jay Haas and Lonnie Nielsen for second.

Tom Kite, D.A. Weibring, Gary Hallberg, Andy Bean and Mike Hulbert were tied for fifth at 5 under.
