BELGRADE, Serbia — Serbian health authorities have diagnosed an Australian athlete with swine flu at the World University Games.
Health official Predrag Kon said Thursday the unidentified Australian has been hospitalized in Belgrade’s military hospital.
Several Australian team members who were in contact with the infected athlete were isolated to prevent the spread of the disease at the games attended by some 8,000 athletes and team members.
This was the 14th swine flu case recorded in Serbia since the beginning of June, when the first case was reported in the Balkan country.
