KPCARDIFF -Is KP serious about what he speaks?

England batsman Kevin Pietersen brushed off his freak sweep dismissal on the opening day of the Ashes series, and said that England can win the first test match at Cardiff.

“We mean business this time. We would definitely have taken that score because Australia have dominated the first day of our two previous Ashes series” The Mirror quoted Pietersen, as saying.

“We had to dig in because against Australia you have to keep fighting back wave after wave of attacks. But one great thing is how positively we played, we showed how much we are ready to compete-and we want to compete in a big way,” he added.

KP top-scored in the England innings with 69, before top-edgeding a sweep off Nathan Hauritz, which ricocheted off the badge on his helmet to the short leg fielder.

“Unfortunately I hit the ball into my helmet - otherwise it would have gone down to fine leg for a single,” KP said.

“The promising thing for us is that Hauritz was spinning it off the straight on day one. We’ve got two specialist spinners and the wicket has already dusted up quite a bit and given us a lot of footholes to work with. That will keep us smiling, so it’s not all bad,” he added. (ANI)
