Hot Dixie Chick wins Schuylerville at Saratoga
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Favored horse Hot Dixie Chick raced to a 6 1/4-length victory in the 91st running of the $150,000-added Schuylerville Stakes for 2-year-old fillies on opening day at Saratoga Race Course.
Robbie Albarado rode the Steve Asmussen-trained Hot Dixie Chick, who is 2-for-3 after her first stakes victory Wednesday. The daughter of Dixie Union ran 6 furlongs in 1:10.16 over a good track and earned $66,600 for Grace Stable.
Hot Dixie Chick paid $5.40, $3.70 and $2.40. Beautician paid $4.00 and $3.40, and Cowgirl Mally returned $4.40 to show.
Earlier, Gold Trippi, with John Velazquez riding for trainer Stanley Hough, scored a half-length victory over Pyro in the $80,500 James Marvin Stakes.
