LONDON - Continuing the light-hearted exchange of messages directed towards popular British band Oasis, Cristiano Ronaldo said the group was no closer to Latino pop singer Ricky Martin.

The former Manchester United star, who was taken in by Real Madrid for a staggering 80 million pounds, previously revealed he preferred the band over the legendary Beatles.

He also said he would love to invite Oasis to see Madrid take on rivals Barcelona in La Liga at the Bernabeu stadium as his guests.

But singer Noel Gallagher said he had his doubts if the Portuguese winker could afford to pick up the tab for a private gig.

“If Noel or Liam want to let me know what they charge for a private gig, they can give me a call or let you guys know and you can pass the message on,” The Sun quoted Ronaldo as saying.

“I mean it can’t be that expensive can it? They’re no Ricky Martin,” he added.

The footie ace also said: “If Oasis think we can’t afford them they should come to the Madrid training ground and see some of the cars.

“The lads here don’t mind spending their money. If I explained to the boys how good Oasis are, I think we could get a whip round going and come up with the fee pretty easily.

“I think Kaka would love them. He has very good taste.” (ANI)
