Jozy Altidore completes loan move to Hull

HULL, England —United States striker Jozy Altidore completed his loan move to Hull on Monday after being granted a British work permit.

The 19-year-old Altidore will play for the Premier League team on a season-long loan from Spanish club Villarreal. Hull has an option to buy him permanently at the end of the season.

Hull begins its second season in the Premier League against Chelsea on Saturday.

Before then, Altidore is set to play Wednesday for the U.S. in a World Cup qualifier at Mexico.

“We wish him well for the game in Mexico City and look forward to his return as a Hull City player at the end of the week,” Hull said in a statement.

Altidore joined Villarreal from the New York Red Bulls in June 2008. After making only two starts and four substitute appearances during the first half of the season, he went to second-division Xerez on loan in January.
