Indian cricketers play badminton match in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH - Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and pacer Rudra Pratap Singh on Wednesday sweat it out as they played their opponents in a different ballgame altogether.
Taking a break form their gruelling cricket schedule, Dhoni and Singh played a friendly badminton match with trainees of a badminton academy here on Wednesday.
“I have met him for the first time. I was very excited, I took his autograph also,” said Arjun.he indoor auditorium was packed to capacity with the crowd jostling to catch a glimpse of their favourite cricketers.
” When we have badminton matches here hall is half empty, but they were playing it was houseful, it shows how popular they are and how popular is the game,” said Satish Bhatia, a coach at the badminton academy.
Indian cricket team is due to leave for Sri Lanka where it will participate in a tri-series featuring the host team and New Zealand between September 8 and 14. (ANI)
