Talkin About Love wins Revidere Stakes
OCEANPORT, N.J. — Talkin About Love took the lead in the deep stretch and drew off to win the $70,000 Revidere Stakes at Monmouth Park on Saturday, beating Cape Cod Girl by three-quarters of a length.
Ridden by Carlos H. Marquez Jr. — who had three winners on the day — and trained by Kevin Sleeter, the 5-year-old mare covered the 1 1/16 miles on a sloppy main track in 1:45 3/5. The race was scheduled for the turf course, but was moved after heavy rains soaked the area for the past two days.
Talkin About Love returned $8.40, $4 and $3, while Cape Cod Girl paid $4.80 and $3.20. Ask the Moon was a nose back in third and paid 3.60.
