Hockey squad for Women’s Asia Cup

NEW DELHI - Hockey India Thursday announced an 18-member squad for the Women’s Asia Cup to be held in Bangkok Oct 3 to Nov 8.
The selection committee comprising Vidya Stokes, Balbir Singh, B.P. Govinda, Madhu Yadav and Sita Mehta picked the team after the two-day trials that ended Wednesday at the Sports Authority Centre in Bhopal.
The following is the squad –
Goalkeepers: Deepika Murty, Savita
Defenders: Binita Toppo, Subhadra Pradhan, Preety Sunila Kiro
Midfielders: Mamta Kharb, Deepika Thakur, Asunta Lakra, Mukta P. Barla, Vartika Singh, Monika Badran
Forwards: Surinder Singh, Jasjeet Kaur, Saba Anjum, Rani, Ritu Rani, Chanchan Devi, Soundarya Yendala
Standbys: Jasdeep Kaur (goalkeeper), Ranjita Devi (defender), Kirandeep Kaur (midfielder), Poonam Rani (forward)
