Cheruiyot, Kosgei to run NYC Marathon
NEW YORK — Past major marathon champions Robert Cheruiyot and Salina Kosgei of Kenya will run next month’s New York City Marathon.
The 31-year-old Cheruiyot has won the Boston Marathon four times, including three straight from 2006-08. The 32-year-old Kosgei won the women’s title in Boston in April.
Race organizers also announced Wednesday that 2005 NYC Marathon champ Paul Tergat of Kenya has withdrawn from the event on Nov. 1 because of a leg injury.
