According to the sources, the Chicago Bears have finally acquired the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end, Gaines Adams for the second round pick. The deal took place on Friday night, four days before the NFL trade deadline. Sources revealed that Adams was the fourth pick in the 2007 draft as he appeared on 37 games in three seasons. The draft took place on Friday night as Adams reportedly failed to live up to the expectations of the Buccaneers as his form reportedly declined this season.

Sources revealed that Adams who appeared in as many as five games this season was recorded to have had 14 tackles and one sack. Following the draft, inside sources revealed that Stylez G. White will probably be filling up Adams position in the Buccaneers when the NFL team goes one on one against Carolina Panthers. The match is scheduled on Sunday.

Adam’s agent Fletcher Smith seemed to be quite content with the draft. “Gaines absolutely sees this as a great opportunity. I know he is looking forward to the opportunity to work with Rob Martinelli, who was able to mold guys such as Simeon Rice and Warren Sapp,” said Fletcher citing that both he and Gaines are quite happy with the draft and that they are looking forward to it.

Also with acquiring Adams it means that the Bears might not re-sign Adewale Ogunleye, one of the most experienced players of Bears whose contract expires soon after the end of this season. Also in order to provide space for Adams in the roster, the Bears have to release a player. It is still unknown which player will be released from the team in order to make way for Adams.
