Ireland has its lead cut to 1 in World Cup of Golf
GUANGZHOU, China — Edoardo and Francesco Molinari shot an 11-under 61 in fourball, and Italy and defending champion Sweden pulled within one-stroke of Ireland after the third round at the at the World Cup of Golf.
Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy had an 8-under 64 on Saturday at the $5.5 million tournament at the Mission Hills Golf Club in Dongguan, but Sweden’s Robert Karlsson and Henrik Stenson shot a 10-under 62 and gained two-strokes on the leaders.
Japan and South Africa were both seven strokes back, while Wales and England were eight strokes off the lead ahead of Sunday’s final round.
